[TDA03] Muv-Luv Unlimited: THE DAY AFTER - Episode 03 REMASTERED

I went in cold to this one and immediately hit a wall: Episode 03 Remastered is the third installment in Muv-Luv Unlimited: The Day After, a visual novel spinoff of a much longer franchise. If you haven't read Episodes 1 and 2, you're walking into a geopolitical crisis in progress. The narrative escalates from there, France's nuclear ultimatum, BETA invasion lore, humanity's fractured response, but the writing never explains what you're missing. Mechanically it's a straight visual novel: read dialogue, make occasional choices, unlock achievements and trading cards. The remaster presumably touched up the visuals, though it's still 2021-era VN presentation. Who's this for? Muv-Luv completionists and visual novel fans willing to hunt down Episodes 1 and 2 first. Standalone newcomers will find themselves confused and frustrated by the lack of recap or self-contained story. If you're already committed to the series, Episode 03 delivers the expected high-stakes narrative continuation. If you're curious about Muv-Luv but haven't started, this is absolutely not the entry point.
