About Tchia: Oléti Edition
The soul-jumping is the reason to play this. You can leap into any animal or loose object in the world, and Tchia builds a whole archipelago around that one idea: glide as a bird, sprint as a dog, become a rock and let someone throw you. Gliding, climbing, sailing and free-diving fill the gaps, and there's a ukulele you actually play, note by note, to shift the weather or the time of day. The Oleti Edition bundles the extras onto the base game, released in 2024 on PC. Where it wobbles is the parts that aren't the sandbox. Combat against the fabric-stitched Maano enemies is thin and repetitive, and the story missions sometimes fence you into a linear corridor when the open world is right there begging to be climbed. But Awaceb built this out of their own New Caledonian culture, language and landscape, and that specificity carries it. It's a short, warm, genuinely unusual adventure that respects your time.
