GamerScout Verdict
Perfect for players who loved Audiosurf or want a shmup that teaches you to listen instead of just dodge.

About Symphony
I found Symphony to be a refreshing take on the shmup formula, trading laser-heavy spectacle for rhythm-game precision. Your ship responds to the beat and melody of each track, so success depends partly on pattern recognition and partly on musical intuition. The art style is clean and minimalist, matching the synth-heavy soundtrack without overwhelming the screen. Enemy patterns and bullet spray feel intentional rather than chaotic, rewarding players who stay attuned to the audio cues. The catch is that a game this heavily tied to its soundtrack lives or dies on audio quality and track variety. With a limited song list, replay value depends on whether you click with Empty Clip's electronic aesthetic. It's not a long campaign, so budget accordingly. Fans of Audiosurf or Rez will spot the lineage immediately.
