If you loved grinding through Sunset City and want more map, more weapons, and more chaos, this pass delivers two full campaign chunks and a four-weapon pack without padding the runtime.

I went back to Sunset Overdrive specifically to work through this Season Pass, and the honest verdict is that it does exactly what good DLC should: it gives you more of the thing that works without breaking the formula. The base game's movement system, where you are grinding rails, wall-running, and air-dashing constantly to keep your Style Meter charged and your Amps active, remains the centerpiece. The Season Pass plugs two new campaign add-ons into that engine, plus a weapons pack, and none of it asks you to relearn anything. The two campaign expansions, The Mystery of Mooil Rig and Dawn of the Rise of the Fallen Machines, each open up a new section of the map with its own missions, quests, challenges, and Chaos Squad objectives. Mooil Rig is the shorter and more uneven of the two. Fallen Machines lands better, adding new enemy types, fresh weapon toys including an orbital laser that fires satellite debris when it misfires (intentional or not, it fits the game's irreverent tone perfectly), and a satisfying final boss. Both packs also drop new Amps and Traps into your loadout, which matters because the Amp system is where the real build variety lives. Stacking weapon Amps on something like the TNTeddy or the vinyl-record cannon and watching them synergize at Style Level 3 is still one of the more entertaining combat loops Insomniac has ever designed. The Weapons Pack, available immediately on download, adds four weapons to your arsenal from the start. For players who want to experiment with Amp combos early, this is genuinely useful rather than cosmetic filler. On top of that, the pass unlocks six character outfits, two bonus Amps, and two Traps right away. It is a front-loaded value proposition, which is rare. The weaknesses are real but not deal-breakers. Fallen Machines shipped with collision bugs, including energy balls clipping into geometry and one fourth-wall sequence that could force a checkpoint restart mid-segment. The Mooil Rig campaign felt shorter and less inspired than it should have been. Neither expansion reinvents what Sunset Overdrive is doing, and if you found the base game repetitive by the end, these add-ons will not change your mind. They are more Sunset Overdrive, confidently assembled, not a reinvention. This is the right pick for players who finished the base campaign and still wanted to stay in Sunset City. It is also worth noting that the Chaos Squad multiplayer mode, which lets up to eight players tackle escalating Night Defense missions together, is Xbox-exclusive and not present in other versions of the game, so if that co-op loop matters to you, this is your platform. The Season Pass assumes you already love the game. If you do, it will not disappoint. Alex, Scout Team
