About STAR WARS: X-Wing Special Edition Key
The store page sells this as a free-to-play massively multiplayer RPG. It is none of those three. What you get is LucasArts' original X-Wing in its Special Edition re-release: a single-player space combat sim where you fly Rebel missions out of a briefing room, and the only crew you command is an astromech riding behind your seat. The good part is the flight model. Balancing laser recharge, shield strength and engine power mid-dogfight is a real skill you build over hours, and the Y-Wing and A-Wing handle nothing alike. The bad part is age. Mission design assumes you will fail repeatedly, the interface predates every convenience you take for granted, and there is no character arc here for someone like me to chew on past the briefing text. Longtime Steam regulars still rate it kindly. Newcomers should expect homework.
