I went in expecting a linear corridor shooter and got a sandbox instead. Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 dumps you in Georgia with minimal handholding, lets you scout targets from ridges, plan approaches, or just go loud with whatever weapons you find. The sniping feels deliberate, wind, distance, breath control all matter. Gunplay elsewhere is serviceable but forgettable, and the story about an American operative caught between US and Russian interests won't stick with you. The real draw is mission freedom. Want to circle a compound for an hour setting up shots? Do it. Bored and want to C4 a fence and run in guns blazing? Also valid. It's rough around the edges, AI pathfinding breaks, frame pacing stutters on mid-range PCs, and the voice acting is pretty stiff. But if you're the kind of player who treats objectives as suggestions and loves experimenting with approach angles, there's something here.
