Terrain-locked district placement is the whole hook: Ba Trieu's Vietnam only builds most districts in rainforest, marsh or woods, so the chop-everything reflex you built over 300 hours has to go. It needs Civilization VI Gold Edition to run. Beyond the civ, you get Kublai Khan as an alternate leader for China and Mongolia, plus the Monopolies and Corporations mode, which layers resource cornering and Great Merchant economics onto the mid game. The mixed Steam score reflects that mode more than the civ itself. For players who want a new opening puzzle rather than another leader skin; skip it if you play tall and vanilla.
