Your first hour with this will be spent fighting the interface rather than the Polish Army. Unit stacks are hard to parse at a glance, the chit-activation flow is not explained so much as implied, and hex-level supply rules reveal themselves through failure. Push through anyway. Once the activation system clicks, and it does click, roughly two sessions in, you get an operational WWII design where you never fully control the tempo. Drawing your formation chits in an order you did not plan is the whole point: it forces reserve discipline and punishes players who commit armour on turn one because they assumed Poland folds on schedule. The campaign is short, which is a feature at this scale, and hotseat plus Remote Play Together make it a plausible board-game night substitute. What disappoints is polish and scope: no meaningful AI opponent variety, minimal onboarding for a design that badly wants a guided first scenario, and little to do after a few playthroughs. Turn-based veterans will be fine. Newcomers should expect to read the manual, not the tooltips.
