Compare Seven Kingdoms: Ancient Adversaries prices across trusted key stores and find the best deal. Developed by Enlight Software Limited. Published by Enlight Software Limited, Retroism. Released on 3/22/2016. Available on PC. Genres: Strategy.

A 90s empire-builder whose espionage layer still outclasses most modern strategy games, provided you can push past an opening hour that teaches you almost nothing.

The first hour is genuinely rough, and you should know that going in. You get a village, a handful of peasants, a general with a loyalty stat you do not yet understand, and almost no guidance on how those pieces connect. Nothing explains that loyalty is the actual resource here, that an unpaid general will walk out with his entire unit roster, or that a rival kingdom's spy is already sitting in your town hall quietly draining that number. Push through, though, and the systems click into a shape very few real-time strategy games have matched since 1997. The espionage layer is the reason to bother. Spies gain skill, assume enemy nationality, bribe generals, incite rebellions and can flip a whole settlement without a single battle, which pairs with victory conditions that let you win through trade and diplomacy instead of conquest. The trade economy is properly interlocking, and the seven playable kingdoms actually differ. Weaknesses are period-typical: fiddly unit pathing, an AI that folds once you learn its tells, and a UI that assumes you have the manual open. Bring patience and it repays you. Diego, Scout Team

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.

Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.
