The arsenal is wide and satisfying, covering shotguns, miniguns, rocket launchers, and some more inventive tools that reward experimentation. Enemy variety is generous, and the level design leans on arena-style encounters that funnel large groups toward you from multiple directions. There is no cover system, no regenerating health. You find medkits, you press forward. It is almost meditative in its refusal to be anything other than what it is. Now, I should be honest about where this sits in the Serious Sam lineage, because the community has complicated feelings. Compared to the original Encounters, the tone here is broader and more cartoonish.
