Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis
A 2009 point-and-click adventure sequel that trades globe-trotting mystery for apocalyptic stakes, but stumbles when puzzle logic gets obtuse.
GamerScout Verdict
A decent apocalyptic mystery let down by puzzle design that punishes logic over luck, try it only if old-school adventure jank doesn't kill your patience.

About Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis
I went in expecting more of what made the first Secret Files work: globe-spanning investigations, decent production values for its era, and puzzles that at least pretend to have internal logic. Puritas Cordis ramps up the world-ending stakes nicely, famine, floods, economic collapse, and the setting feels genuinely high-stakes. The problem is the puzzle design. Too many solutions require trial-and-error or pixel-hunting rather than actual deduction. If you're patient with old-school adventure game jank and don't mind getting stuck until you've tried every item on every object, there's a competent mystery here. It's a 2009 indie adventure made when that genre was already fighting for relevance, so don't expect AAA production. For fans of classic point-and-click adventures who can tolerate frustration, it's worth a weekend. Everyone else should probably skip it.
