GamerScout Verdict
Solid weekend nostalgia play if you loved early Ubisoft platformers; skip it if you want Rayman at his best.

About Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc
I went in expecting more of the floaty platforming magic from Rayman 2, but Hoodlum Havoc pivots hard toward combat. You're collecting André's power-ups (Heavy Fist, Missile Launcher, etc.) to solve puzzles and bash enemies through bite-sized levels. It works fine in short bursts, and the art direction is crisp for 2003, the Hoodlum crew are genuinely charming villains. The problem is pacing. Levels feel disconnected, the camera can be finicky, and once you've seen the power-up loop twice, novelty evaporates. There's no real reason to replay it. If you're hunting retro platformers and nostalgia for early 2000s Ubisoft production, it's worth a weekend. Everyone else should stick with Rayman 2.
