Railroad Corporation - Niagara River
A long-play challenge DLC that forces you to engineer a cross-border supply chain under deadline pressure. Existing Railroad Corporation fans only, but it delivers exactly what it promises.
GamerScout Verdict
Built for Railroad Corporation veterans wanting a timed, high-pressure scenario. Skip it if you haven't finished the base campaign first.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

About Railroad Corporation - Niagara River
I've spent enough time optimizing supply chains in tycoon games to know when a DLC is filler and when it actually adds a genuine strategic wrinkle. Niagara River lands firmly in the second camp, though with some caveats worth spelling out before you commit. This is a single scenario expansion for Railroad Corporation, Corbie Games' 19th-century rail tycoon, and it frames one specific, high-pressure problem: connect the United States to Canada by building over the Niagara River itself, with government inspectors watching your timeline and your budget. The core loop of the base game carries over intact. You build trade routes early to generate cash flow, because debt in this engine is punishing and compounds fast. You layer research on top of that, upgrading your rolling stock and unlocking better locomotives so late-game deliveries actually run at a profit. Where Niagara River twists the formula is in the cross-border logistics. You need to acquire Canadian operating licenses, manage supply chains on both sides of the river simultaneously, and decide when to lean on the new ferry system to shuttle materials across before your permanent infrastructure is ready. That ferry mechanic is a genuine addition, not a cosmetic one. It gives you a short-term pressure release valve that costs money and capacity, which means timing when you use it versus when you absorb the delay is an actual decision with downstream consequences. The bribery option for keeping inspectors satisfied is similarly pointed: spend political capital early and stretch your cash, or stay clean and race the clock on raw logistics. The broader base game has documented rough edges that carry into this DLC. Track-laying controls have always been the most friction-heavy part of Railroad Corporation, and the community widely agrees the curve steepens in complex terrain. Niagara River does not fix that. The tutorial respects your time in the sense that the base game's campaign already walked you through supply chain basics, the Human Resources department, the research station, and portfolio management, so this scenario assumes you have that foundation. Jumping into it without the campaign under your belt will hurt. For veterans, though, the compressed timeline and the dual-side infrastructure problem give the kind of late-game stress-test that the base missions occasionally fail to sustain. One structural note worth flagging: Railroad Corporation 2 is out now, and it covers the electrification era with expanded mechanics. If you are deciding between investing further in the original ecosystem versus jumping to the sequel, that is a real consideration. Niagara River makes the most sense if you are already committed to the first game's systems and want a harder, scenario-focused challenge rather than a sandbox extension. The Steam Workshop support on the base game also means the mod ecosystem adds longevity that a single DLC scenario cannot match on its own. Bottom line: this is a tightly constructed scenario that adds a legitimate new mechanic in the ferry system, frames a clear engineering problem, and gives practiced players a stiff deadline to work against. It is not an entry point and it will not convert skeptics of the base game's jank. But if you have cleared the campaign and want one more hard run before the sequel, this is the right kind of challenge.
