Radical Rex
A fire-breathing dinosaur on a skateboard sounds ridiculous, because it is, and that's the whole appeal. Radical Rex is pure '90s arcade energy wrapped in an indie package.
GamerScout Verdict
A goofy, personality-packed arcade platformer that knows exactly what it is and commits to the bit.

About Radical Rex
I went in expecting a nostalgia cash-grab and came out entertained by something genuinely weirder. You're Rex, a T-Rex with a skateboard and inexplicable fire breath, plowing through side-scrolling levels to break an evil spell on your dinosaur pals. The skateboarding gimmick is thin, it mostly just changes how you move, but the fire-breathing combat and level design lean into Saturday-morning cartoon logic so hard that it works. Radical Rex is rough around the edges. The difficulty spikes are unforgiving, hit detection can feel loose, and there's no deep mechanic to latch onto. But if you're after a short, bite-sized action game with genuine personality and 90s attitude baked in, this does the job. It's the kind of indie title that doesn't try to be anything bigger than it is, just a dinosaur with attitude and a skateboard.
