NUKITASHI 2
If you finished NUKITASHI and immediately wanted more time with Touka, Rei, and Ikuko, this sequel delivers exactly that - just don't go in cold expecting a standalone story.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for NUKITASHI veterans who want more time with the FS trio and can live with a lighter plot than the original.

About NUKITASHI 2
I went into NUKITASHI 2 already sold on Qruppo's absurdist world-building from the first game, and the sequel wastes no time throwing protagonist Junnosuke Tachibana into a parallel-universe premise that would feel completely ridiculous if the original hadn't already earned that kind of goodwill. The setup involves an accidental dimensional slip that lands Junnosuke in a timeline where he sided with the FS from the start, working alongside the Big Three - Touka, Rei, and Ikuko - rather than opposing them. It is a genuinely clever "what if" angle that flips the power dynamic from the original in ways that feel earned rather than arbitrary. The structure here is worth knowing before you commit. The common route and the three main FS character routes (Touka for thematic continuation, Rei for pure comedy, Ikuko for dramatic payoff) make up the core experience, and they carry the bulk of the quality. Beyond that, the game opens up a collection of epilogues for the heroines from the first title - Nanase, Misaki, Hinami, Fumino, and Asane - which function more as fan-service extras than standalone stories. Readers who want a tightly plotted sequel will find the back half looser than expected. Readers who just want more time with a cast they already love will be perfectly happy working through every scenario. What NUKITASHI 2 does exceptionally well is comedy. The writing keeps a consistent absurdist energy that the original established, and Rei's route in particular leans hardest into the tone that made the series popular - chaotic, self-aware, and genuinely funny without just recycling the same beats. The full Japanese voice cast returns and remains one of the production's real strengths, bringing performances that range from sincerely emotional to completely unhinged in ways that suit the material. Production values are solid throughout, which is consistent with Qruppo's track record. The Steam version ships with content trimmed; a free 18+ patch via Johren restores the full game, and community consensus is firm that the patch is not optional if you want the complete experience. Where it stumbles is in the overall plot ambition. The first NUKITASHI built something with genuine dramatic stakes under all the lewdness. The sequel leans harder on character chemistry and comedy while letting the overarching story do lighter lifting. That is not necessarily a flaw - it is a deliberate change in direction - but players coming in expecting the same narrative weight may feel the difference. Ikuko's route also has pacing issues with repeated dialogue stretches that drag in the middle section. None of it is dealbreaking, but it does mean the sequel peaks early and coasts through parts of the back half. For existing fans, NUKITASHI 2 is a comfortable, frequently funny return to Seiran Island that rewards anyone who finished the first game and wanted closure with the FS trio. For newcomers, there is no version of this that works as an entry point - the emotional context of every scene depends entirely on what came before. Play the original first, apply the patch, then decide if you want more. If the answer is yes, this delivers.
