About NTBSS Top Secret Training Set - Season Pass 4 Characters (DLC)
I'll be direct with you: this is not a game, and it barely qualifies as a meaningful upgrade. The NTBSS Top Secret Training Set for Season Pass 4 is a shortcut DLC that unlocks Ninjutsu, Secret Techniques, and avatar items from five Season Pass 4 masters - Sakura Haruno (Great Ninja War), Nagato (Reanimation), Itachi Uchiha (Reanimation), Sasuke Uchiha (Last Battle), and Kawaki - content that would otherwise sit locked behind Training Rank 5 with each respective master. You are paying for a skip, full stop. To understand what that skip is worth, you need to know what Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker actually is under the hood. The base game is a 4v4 online ninja brawler built around wall-running, chakra-jumping, and kunai-grapple traversal, with objective modes like Flag Battles, Barrier Battles, and Base Battles. Your custom avatar equips Ninjutsu learned by training under iconic characters, so the master system is genuinely central to build variety. Season Pass 4, subtitled Regeneration, adds five of those masters, and its standout mechanical additions include Sakura's heal-type Ninjutsu - Strength of a Hundred: Flower Cannon and Strength of a Hundred: Hard Light - alongside the exclusive Attack-type Secret Technique Super Uzumaki Rasengan for pass holders. That content has genuine gameplay value if you are deep in Shinobi Striker's avatar customization loop. Here is where things get uncomfortable. The Training Set DLC on Steam sits at Very Negative with only around 15% of nearly 200 reviews recommending it. Community frustration is not primarily about the content itself - the characters and techniques being unlocked are the same ones in the Season Pass - it is about the model. Selling a grind-skip on top of already-paid season pass content rubs the player base the wrong way, and that reaction is entirely fair. If you bought Season Pass 4, you already have access to these masters. The Training Set only accelerates reaching Training Rank 5 with each of them. For most players who put regular hours into the game, that rank is reachable without spending extra. The DLC essentially monetizes patience. The only scenario where this makes practical sense is a player who already owns Season Pass 4, has limited time to grind, and specifically wants to run one of these five masters' techniques in online PvP or co-op missions right away. Itachi (Reanimation) and Kawaki in particular have drawn attention from the community for their move sets, so if time-to-viability matters to you in a competitive context, the argument is at least coherent. But coherent is not the same as good value, and the Steam review score reflects that gap loudly. Skip this unless you are an active Shinobi Striker regular who owns Season Pass 4 and genuinely cannot tolerate the grind to Rank 5. Everyone else should put that money toward the Season Pass itself, or the base game if you have not started yet. Alex, Scout Team
