Hyrule Warriors made mob-clearing feel like weather rolling across a battlefield. Neptunia Virtual Stars swings similar combos at far emptier arenas, and that difference is the whole review. You switch between the Neptunia goddesses and the VTuber leads mid-fight, chain light and heavy strings, and grind through corridor-shaped zones that recycle their layouts long before the credits. The BeatTik rhythm-video segments are the genuinely odd, likeable idea here, remixing recorded VTuber footage into a scoring minigame that nothing else in the genre attempts. Everything around it is thin. Character writing lands only if you already have affection for the Neptunia cast's meta-jokes, side content is XP padding wearing a quest marker, and the split Steam reception reflects a fanbase arguing with itself rather than a hidden gem. Dragons would have helped. Come for the VTuber novelty, not the combat.
