Detroit's most famous cyborg cop crash-lands into MK11's roster with film-accurate moves, Peter Weller's voice, and two fatalities that will make RoboCop fans grin. Worth it for 80s nostalgia alone.

My first reaction when RoboCop was announced for MK11's Aftermath expansion was pure, slightly baffled delight. An 80s Paul Verhoeven creation dropped into a 2020 NetherRealm fighting game sounds like a fever dream, but it genuinely works. Peter Weller reprises the role, lending his voice and scanned likeness to the in-game model, which gives the whole package a level of authenticity you don't always get with guest characters. Compare that to the Terminator in Kombat Pack 1, where the studio couldn't lock down Arnold's voice, and the difference in feel is noticeable immediately. As a fighter, RoboCop is a ranged-leaning zoner. His toolkit pulls directly from the films: the iconic Auto-9 sidearm, the heavy Cobra Assault Cannon, a data-spike hand blade for close-range pressure, and a riot shield that feeds into at least one brutality. His Fatal Blow summons the malfunctioning mech ED-209 for backup. The two fatalities are the real highlights. "Dead or Alive" calls in ED-209 while RoboCop finishes the job with the Cobra rifle, a genuine love letter to the OCP boardroom scene. "Thank You for Your Cooperation" recreates the film's hostage-rescue shot in first-person, switching to RoboCop's targeting HUD before he puts a round somewhere extremely specific and chains it into a grenade explosion. These are not generic finishing moves bolted onto a borrowed IP; they are clearly designed by people who watched the movies multiple times. The honest caveat here is that some reviewers found RoboCop's actual fighting style a little underwhelming mechanically. He looks spectacular, but if you're a player who wants deep melee combo strings, the slow and deliberate movement that makes him feel like RoboCop is the same thing that limits his combo expressiveness. He's an acquired taste for competitive play. His story integration fares better than you might expect, though. His MK11 arc ties him to Kano as a gun-runner in Old Detroit, which slots neatly into the film's lore, and his fight intros across the roster sell the character as genuinely ingratiated with the Earthrealm heroes rather than just stapled onto the side of the campaign. Skin options are a treat for franchise fans. The gray suit from the original film and the bluer palette from RoboCop 2 are both present. NetherRealm also included a Mortal Kombat 3 Cyber Ninja-styled RoboCop variant that's a weird crossover bonus for people who remember the cyborg ninjas from that era. His Friendship finisher, "Breakin' It Down," has him perform a robot dance, which lands exactly as well as it sounds. If you already own MK11 and have any warmth toward the 1987 film, this is a single-character DLC where the craft put into the character is clearly visible. If you're a tournament-focused player looking for a meta-relevant addition, there are other picks on the roster that will serve you better. But as an exercise in doing a guest character right, RoboCop in MK11 is one of the better examples NetherRealm has produced. Alex, Scout Team

Ideal for RoboCop fans and MK11 completionists; purely cosmetic value if you have no attachment to the 1987 film.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.

Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
