Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials
A three-hour ghost story dressed as a hidden object game, carried by a genuinely odd Nathaniel Hawthorne conspiracy that deserved sharper puzzles around it.
GamerScout Verdict
Worth an evening if the Salem-and-Hawthorne premise sells you; skip it if you want puzzles that respect your time.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

About Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials
The historical hook is the best thing here, and it's better than this genre usually bothers with. You're chasing the ghost of Nathaniel Hawthorne through Salem, and the plot actually commits to the messy real history of the witch trials instead of using it as spooky wallpaper. The writing is straight-faced, the ghost-story atmosphere lands, and for a casual adventure released in 2012 it treats its source material with more care than the box art suggests. What surrounds that hook is standard, sometimes creaky. This is point-and-click hidden object work: scan cluttered scenes, collect the list, solve the occasional inventory or logic puzzle between them. A few of those puzzles run on 2012 adventure-game logic, where the solution makes sense only after you've already brute-forced it, and the scene art gets recycled more than it should. It's short, maybe an evening, and the Steam crowd's mixed verdict feels about right. Come for the Hawthorne mystery, not the puzzle design.
