GamerScout Verdict
A themed mystery adventure that works if you like hidden-object puzzles and don't mind 2009 production values.

About Midnight Mysteries
I've always liked mystery games that commit to a theme, and Midnight Mysteries at least swings for the fences: you're hunting clues about how Poe actually died, which is a genuinely clever hook. The hidden-object sequences are competent and the story beats land better than you'd expect from an indie casual title. It's the kind of game that respects your time if you're into this genre. The catch is that this is pure 2009. The visuals are muddy, the voice acting is thin, and the puzzle variety tops out pretty quickly. If you're coming in fresh from something like Artifex Mundi's better work, the production gap will sting. But if you're just hunting for a solid afternoon mystery-adventure with actual personality, Midnight Mysteries still holds up as a competent B-tier choice.
