Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Nintendo's strangest crossover turns out to be a tactical turn-based strategy game that's weirdly addictive, even if the Rabbids humor lands like a wet sponge.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for strategy fans who can tolerate the Rabbids charm and want turn-based tactics without the XCOM time commitment.

About Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
I went in skeptical about Mario and Rabbids sharing screen time, but the core strategy here is legitimately solid. You're moving characters across grid-based battlefields, positioning for cover, lining up shots to chain damage combos. The puzzle-like level design rewards planning over button-mashing, and co-op campaign lets you tag a friend in for some levels. It's XCOM-lite with plumber skin. The annoying part is the Rabbids themselves. They're hyperactive and aggressively unfunny in ways that feel designed for a younger audience, which clashes with tactical depth that older players will actually respect. Strip away the grating dialogue and licensed characters, and you've got a legitimately engaging tactics game that respects your time. Just mute it and focus on the board state.
