Ten packs of extra Marvel mayhem for a game that already had too many characters - worthwhile if you cleared the base game and want more, skippable if you didn't.

I've spent enough time with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 to know when a season pass is pulling its weight, and this one largely does. The base game already stuffed over 200 characters into its time-hopping open world, and the season pass adds 60-plus more across ten separate packs - six level packs and four character-only bundles, all tied to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a handful of TV properties that were active around 2017-2018. The level packs are the real draw here. Each one drops you into a self-contained story mission built around a specific MCU film or TV show: there's a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 pack, a Black Panther mission set in Wakanda with Shuri and T'Challa squaring off against Killmonger's forces, a Cloak and Dagger escape scenario, a Runaways level set in a Marine Vivarium, and the Avengers: Infinity War pack that lets you play as Thanos himself. The Ant-Man and the Wasp pack closes things out with a puzzle-heavy romp through Hank Pym's research lab. Each level is bite-sized - classic LEGO game length, maybe 20-30 minutes - but they're punchy little additions that scratch the co-op itch without demanding a big time investment per sitting. The four character packs (Classic Guardians, Agents of Atlas, Champions, and Out of Time) are strictly for roster completionists. Champions is probably the most interesting of them, bringing in Miles Morales Spider-Man, Ironheart, Amadeus Cho, Nadia Pym Wasp, and Kate Bishop - characters who were relatively fresh at the time and still hold up as fun picks in freeplay. Agents of Atlas and Out of Time are deeper cuts aimed at comic fans who'll recognize names like Major Astro and Lady Spider, and may leave more casual players shrugging. The Classic Guardians pack is straightforward nostalgia for anyone who grew up on the 1969 team. Worth flagging: this is a bundled pass for content that released in stages over roughly eight months post-launch, from late 2017 through mid-2018. Everything is now fully available, so there's no waiting involved. The value question is straightforward - if you already own the base game and found the core loop enjoyable, the level packs alone justify picking this up when it dips. If you bounced off the main game or still haven't finished it, start there first and circle back. Alex, Scout Team

Worth grabbing for base-game fans who want more co-op levels; pure roster packs are only for committed Marvel completionists.
