About KIBORG: Descent
I went in expecting a tighter follow-up to the original KIBORG formula, and what I found was ambitious but uneven. Descent adds new floors, bosses, and weapons to the tower-climbing loop, and the shared-screen co-op is where it shines, local multiplayer makes the run-based combat feel less isolating. The pixel art holds up, and controller support is solid. Where it falters: the mixed Steam reviews hint at difficulty spikes that feel arbitrary rather than skill-based, and some weapon balance issues make certain builds feel mandatory. It's the kind of sequel that knows what worked before but hasn't quite figured out how to expand on it without breaking something. If you're hunting for a couch co-op roguelike with personality, Descent is worth a shot, especially on sale. Solo players might find the grind less forgiving. The bones are there, Sobaka Studio just needed another pass on tuning.
