GamerScout Verdict
For co-op fans willing to overlook clunky gunplay to experience an offbeat resistance-movement shooter.

About Homefront: The Revolution
I went into Homefront: The Revolution expecting a straightforward shooter, but it's genuinely weird: you're playing asymmetrical combat as the underdog, sneaking and scrounging to build up resistance cells in an occupied city. That perspective is refreshing. The problem is the execution. Gunplay feels sluggish and imprecise, enemy AI doesn't react smartly to your tactics, and the open world feels more empty than purposeful. Co-op salvages some of the roughness by letting you and a friend wreak coordinated chaos, but solo play drags hard when you're caught between stealth sections that punish you for being seen and firefights where your bullets feel like they're firing through water. If you're hungry for asymmetrical FPS gameplay and can tolerate a janky foundation, there's something here worth exploring. Just manage expectations: this is a game that knew what it wanted to be and stumbled in the execution, not one that nails the concept.
