HITMAN World of Assassination Part One

I approached World of Assassination Part One expecting a simple rereleasing of 2016's GOTY edition, but IO-Interactive went further. The six locations, Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Colorado, and Hokkaido, have been rebuilt with improved visuals and tighter mission design. The stealth gameplay shines when you're planning a run-through: studying guard patterns, identifying disguise opportunities, and deciding whether the sniper rifle in the tower or the poison in the kitchen is your angle. Patient Zero bonus campaign rounds out the package with fresh challenges in familiar spaces. What doesn't shine as bright is the platform exclusivity. As an Xbox-only release, it's a smaller affair than its multiplatform predecessors. The game demands patience and multiple attempts to unlock everything, which is intentional but can feel grindy if you're chasing completion. If you're a stealth player hungry for methodical, sandbox-style assassination contracts with real freedom in execution, this is exactly your kind of game. Everyone else should consider whether six locations justify the asking price.
