Hellstuck: Rage With Your Friends

I've seen plenty of co-op platformers promise friendship-destroying difficulty, but Hellstuck actually delivers on that premise. You control a character that can only jump upwards, and the level design exploits that constraint relentlessly. Single-player is fine, but the magic (and chaos) happens in co-op: you're not controlling one avatar together, you're controlling separate characters who need to time their jumps in sync to progress. One mistimed input cascades into group failure. The game is lean and unapologetic about it. No story padding, no hand-holding tutorials beyond the basics. If precision platformers with a co-op twist appeal to you, Hellstuck delivers what it promises. If you're looking for depth or complexity beyond reaction time and coordination, you'll find none. At this scope and price point, it's an honest indie product for players who actually want to test their reflexes alongside friends.
