Gunlok

Gunlok strips away the base-building overhead of traditional tactics games and puts you directly into turn-based combat with a customizable exoskeleton. Each mission is a contained puzzle: position your mech, manage heat and ammo pools, exploit terrain. The grid-based movement and cover system reward planning over reflexes, and weapon loadout decisions stick with you through entire campaigns. Decision-making is tight and immediate. The catch: it's lean on content and its UI assumes you've played this genre before. Tutorial coverage is minimal, so newcomers expecting hand-holding will struggle. Multiplayer exists but the playerbase is skeletal. If you want a straightforward tactics game with no campaign bloat or survival mechanics, Gunlok scratches that itch cleanly.
