GreedFall asks for patience before it gives anything back: forty-odd hours of faction reputation math, stiff third-person combat, and copy-pasted cave corridors, all propping up colonial-intrigue writing that only clicks once the diplomacy starts biting. The Gold Edition pairs that base game with The De Vespe Conspiracy, a genuine story expansion (new region of Teer Fradee, new quests, enemies and gear), not a soundtrack-and-wallpaper filler bundle. This key covers Xbox One and Series X|S. That makes the package easy to judge. If you have never set foot on the island, this is the version to take, since De Vespe is built for a late-game character who has already invested in the Technical or Magic trees and has the reputation to talk past a fight. Standard edition owners should buy the expansion on its own rather than rebuying the whole thing. And if the opening hours of fetch-flavored companion errands wear you down, extra content will not fix that.
