From Space is a top-down co-op shooter where you and up to three friends mow down alien hordes across a colorful but chaotic Earth under invasion. Operation Clear Skies is a Story Mode DLC that layers additional characters and their accompanying mission lines on top of the base game's structure. If you bounced off From Space or never played it, this expansion does nothing to change your mind. It is built entirely for the people who liked what was already there and wanted more of it. What the DLC actually delivers is a set of new characters who hand you dangerous tasks, expanding the mission roster within the Story Mode framework. Triangle Studios keeps the tone consistent with the base game - bright, slightly tongue-in-cheek, and leaning into the chaos of clearing alien infestations with a squad. The new characters feel like they belong in the world rather than being tacked on, which is the least a DLC should do and is sometimes the hardest thing to pull off without diluting the original voice. From a craft standpoint, this is a modest addition. It does not reinvent the loop, introduce new weapon classes, overhaul progression, or add a new biome. If you were hoping for a mechanical shake-up - something like a survival mode or a new enemy faction with different behaviors - you will not find it here. Operation Clear Skies is supplementary content in the truest sense: more missions, more faces, more excuses to keep playing with friends. The review count on Steam is low enough that drawing firm conclusions from sentiment alone would be irresponsible. What the data does suggest is that the small group who have played it found it acceptable for what it is. That matches the expectation you should carry in: this is a light content drop, not a substantial second chapter. For the right player - someone who already owns From Space, plays it regularly with a regular squad, and has cleared the main content - Operation Clear Skies offers a legitimate reason to return.
