About Mickey Storm and the Cursed Mask
I picked this up expecting a racing game, and Mickey Storm is technically that, but it's really a 2.5D waterslide platformer where you're racing your sister (or a buddy in local co-op) down increasingly ridiculous slides to stop some villain called Dr. Fisher. The appeal is straightforward: it's made for split-screen chaos on the couch, not competitive online grinding. The slide physics feel floaty rather than weighty, and solo play is a slog, but with another person mashing buttons next to you and laughing at the cartoon chaos, it clicks as a throwaway party game. The catch is that it's indie-budget small. Three or four rounds in, the novelty of waterslide racing wears thin if you're playing alone, and the level design doesn't have the tooth you'd want from a platformer. Pick it up only if you've got a regular co-op buddy and a low bar for "fun for 20 minutes." Don't expect depth. Riley, Scout Team
