Flight Sim World was Dovetail Games' answer to the flight sim market before Microsoft Flight Simulator became the juggernaut it is today. You get a solid aircraft roster, real-world airports, and a flexible mission creator that lets you build your own scenarios. The flight physics are serious enough for hobbyists, and the interface doesn't talk down to you. The catch: it's aging now, and Microsoft's free annual updates have lapped it in visuals and content breadth. If you're specifically after a sim you can own outright without a Game Pass subscription, or you want something less demanding on your rig, this still delivers. Just know you're buying into a smaller community with fewer add-ons than the bigger names. It's competent, not cutting-edge.
