About Fiery catacombs
I spent a few hours with Fiery Catacombs and found a lean, focused game that knows exactly what it wants to be. You descend through hand-crafted rooms bristling with spike traps, fire pits, and falling blocks. There's no combat, no dialogue, no story padding, just you, deliberate movement, and the constant threat of instant death. The pixel art is crisp and readable even in tight spaces, and the trap layouts escalate in cruelty with each descent. What works is the clarity: every hazard telegraphs itself, so failure feels like your mistake, not unfair design. What doesn't work is longevity. This is a 2-3 hour puzzle-platformer, maybe 5 if you're completionist about unlocking all paths. There's no progression system or narrative hook to pull you back after you've memorized the rooms. If you want a short, meditative lesson in trap design and pixel-perfect jumps, Fiery Catacombs delivers. Just don't expect it to stick around.
