About Fantasy General II: Onslaught
I've logged enough hours in Fantasy General II to know its biggest weakness: the original roster felt samey once you'd optimized a build. Onslaught dumps 13 flying units into the mix, and suddenly skies matter tactically. The procedurally generated Onslaught campaign forces you to adapt on the fly, and Iron Maiden mode is basically a roguelike gauntlet for players who treat defeat as data to mine, not a stop-sign. Turn-based tactical depth is solid; you're managing positioning, morale, and unit synergies across multiple squads. The catch: new players will bounce hard without prior Fantasy General II experience. This is an expansion, not a standalone, and it assumes you already know how stacks and morale work. If you own the base game and crave fresh strategic wrinkles rather than story content, Onslaught earns its seat at the table.
