I spent a few hours with Fancy Fishing VR expecting a gimmick. Instead it's a straightforward fishing game that happens to be in VR - no motion controls required, no arcade bells and whistles. Three separate game modes let you cast, reel, and land fish with basic hand gestures in a stylized underwater setting. The appeal here is pure relaxation. If you want to zone out and catch virtual fish without complicated progression systems or timers, this delivers on that narrow promise. The catch: this is a 2017 VR title that feels it. Graphics are dated, variety is thin, and there's no community or leaderboards to chase. Best suited for VR owners looking for low-stress downtime or curiosity-driven fishing fans who want to try the genre in a headset. Everyone else should probably pass.
