About Escape The Past
I went in expecting straightforward puzzle-box design, but Escape The Past leans hard into atmosphere instead. You're waking on an island with fragmented memories, solving riddles across bizarre, painterly environments that feel less like game spaces and more like fever dreams. The puzzles themselves are fairly light, mostly item hunts and basic lateral-thinking challenges, but the real pull is piecing together what happened to you. It's not going to scratch the itch if you want Portal-grade head-scratchers. The game's only a few hours, and some of the dream logic is more obtuse than satisfying. But if you're after a moody, low-pressure adventure that trusts its atmosphere over mechanics, and you don't mind a shallow ending, this does its thing well enough. Not a must-play, but a solid fit for a lazy afternoon.
