For patience-heavy strategy fans willing to overlook rough edges in exchange for a lo-fi kingdom sim.

About Era of Majesty
I went in expecting a straightforward turn-based strategy game with RPG progression, and Era of Majesty does technically deliver that. You build settlements, manage resources, recruit troops, and fight battles on a grid. The core loop exists. But the UI feels clunky, tooltips are sparse, and there's almost no tutorial to explain whether you're playing it right. It's the kind of game where 20 minutes in you're not sure if you're winning or just wasting time, and there's nothing in the presentation that makes you want to stick around and find out. For the budget crowd hunting obscure indies, this might scratch an itch if you have the patience to decipher its systems. For everyone else, there are cleaner medieval strategy games that won't make you squint at the interface.
