About Invention 2
Invention 2 is a straightforward indie action title that doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. I went in expecting either a sequel to something famous or a hidden gem, and it's neither, it's a lean, no-frills arcade-style experience from a developer who clearly had a specific vision and shipped it without the marketing megaphone. The action is direct: simple controls, arcade pacing, the kind of game you can pick up for 10 minutes or grind for an hour. What works here is the lack of bloat. No tutorials drowning you in text, no story cutscenes waiting for your permission to progress. What doesn't work is that there's almost no community feedback or coverage to tell you what actually separates this from dozens of other nameless indie action titles. If you're hunting for offbeat action with old-school rhythm or you're just completionist enough to try every forgotten 2018 indie on the list, grab it cheap and see if it clicks. Everyone else is probably fine skipping it.
