About Dustwind - The Last Resort XBOX LIVE Key
The combat is the reason to be here. Dustwind runs real-time tactics with a pause-and-order rhythm, and the moment-to-moment control is sharper than the presentation suggests: you aim limbs, swap weapons mid-fight, throw grenades that actually punish sloppy positioning, and build characters out of skills and gear rather than fixed classes. The Last Resort is the single-player campaign built on that system, a post-apocalyptic wasteland run told from an isometric camera that anyone who played Fallout Tactics will recognize instantly. Vehicles, turrets, and a dog you can send in as a scout give fights more texture than the modest budget implies. Where it disappoints is everything around the fighting. Mission design leans hard on trial and error, the story is functional at best, and the interface takes a while to stop fighting you. The PvP and co-op modes were clearly the studio's long game, which is a problem when the lobby is quiet. On console, treat this as a campaign purchase with a level editor attached and hope the multiplayer finds you. Buy it for the tactics, not the trimmings.
