I spent a couple hours with Divine Dynamo Flamefrit expecting either a solid action romp or a gimmicky mess. It lands somewhere in between. The top-down hero segments are straightforward slash-and-dodge fare with controller support that feels responsive enough, but they're not what makes this worth your time. The real draw is the pivot to first-person piloting the mech Flamefrit for boss encounters, a tonal whiplash that actually works because the controls snap into place and the fights demand real pattern recognition. The problem: stages feel thin, the story about restoring peace to Hologard won't grab you, and there's not enough meat on the bone to justify a full playthrough unless you're specifically into indie action games that experiment with format rather than polish. If you dig mechanical novelty over AAA refinement, Flamefrit's got enough spark to spark your curiosity.
