Platinum spent in the shop funds cosmetic items that sit entirely outside the power curve - so you are not buying progression, which is the honest version of this transaction. Whether cosmetics in a game with mixed Steam reviews and an ongoing live-service model represent good value is a question only you can answer based on how many hours you have already logged. The mixed review score on Steam (sitting around 65% positive across a large sample) reflects a player base with real grievances about seasonal pacing, the shop economy, and endgame loop fatigue - none of which Platinum addresses.
