Devil May Cry 3 (Special Edition)
A 2006 action masterpiece finally on PC, loaded with combat depth but saddled with the port jank you'd expect from a 20-year-old console game.
GamerScout Verdict
Essential for character-action devotees who can overlook a dated port for genuinely sharp combat and satisfying boss design.

About Devil May Cry 3 (Special Edition)
I went in expecting DMC3 to feel ancient. It doesn't. The combat system, style ranking, weapon switching, combo freeflow, still sets the bar for character action games. Boss fights are genuinely brutal and rewarding once they click. Vergil is here as a playable character, and his teleport-heavy moveset feels distinct enough to justify a second campaign. The catch: this PC port carries baggage. Camera angles from 2006, clunky platforming sections, and a UI that clearly wasn't designed for mouse-and-keyboard (gamepad mandatory). Bloody Palace mode gives endless grinding appeal if you love the combat. Turbo Mode sweetens the deal for replay value. If you can stomach legacy rough edges for some of the sharpest sword-and-gun mechanics ever coded, DMC3 Special Edition rewards that patience.
