You pick a Slayer, level up, unlock brutal finishers, and tackle story missions solo or with up to three friends online. The combat loop is satisfying if you like melee-focused games with environmental kills and dismemberment physics that don't pretend to be anything subtle. It's not trying to be a survival sim or story-driven experience. There's a plot about immunity and outbreak truth, but the real appeal is the moment-to-moment gore and co-op chaos. Single-player works fine but feels like the side dish. Controller support is solid across PlayStation and standard gamepads.
