DARK SOULS II Crown of the Ivory King
The strongest of DS2's three DLCs, if you can stomach a torch-lighting scavenger hunt through a blizzard before the actual bosses turn up.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for DS2 veterans at level 120 who want the series' most atmospheric snow crawl and will forgive the Frigid Outskirts.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About DARK SOULS II Crown of the Ivory King
The torch is the whole design here. Eleum Loyce hides its bosses behind a whiteout you cannot see through, and lighting sconces one by one is not decoration, it is the gate. That single mechanic reframes exploration: you stop sprinting past enemies and start mapping a frozen city by memory, dragging a flame through a storm that erases your landmarks. When the snow finally clears and the Old Ivory King fight opens up with knights you rescued along the way fighting beside you, it lands harder than anything in the base game's back half. What drags is the padding around it. The Frigid Outskirts optional area is one of the most openly hostile stretches FromSoftware has ever shipped, and the Frozen Eleum Loyce co-op arena rewards patience more than skill. Build variety still holds: fire infusions, hex casters and heavy poise setups all have real answers here. But this is expansion content, not a starting point. Come with a level 120 character, a working weapon, and tolerance for getting lost on purpose.
