About Cuban Missile Crisis
I went in expecting another dry historical wargame, but Cuban Missile Crisis splits its DNA between real-time skirmishes and turn-based global diplomacy. You manage military deployments across the map in real-time while handling political moves (espionage, negotiations, arms buildups) on a turn-by-turn layer. The hook is genuine: neither side wants nuclear war, so every decision calculates escalation risk. The problem is execution. The real-time battles feel disconnected from the strategic layer, and the AI doesn't consistently punish sloppy play. The UI is functional but dated even for 2015. It's not a failure so much as an incomplete idea, solid foundation, thin follow-through. If you want Cold War brinkmanship without 300 hours of Crusader Kings tutorials, this scratches that itch. Just don't expect Paradox-level depth or mod support.
