About Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
The first hour is where most people bounce, and it has nothing to do with the shooting. Getting into this at all meant buying a specific edition of Infinite Warfare, and once you're in, the campaign throws you straight into cargo-ship boarding and Pripyat ghillie crawls with almost no onboarding. Modern rebuilds have trained you to expect regenerating checkpoints every twenty seconds and generous aim assist. This one is a 2007 shooter under new lighting: fast, punishing on veteran, occasionally unfair with grenade spam. Push through the freighter and it clicks. What holds up is the pacing. All Ghillied Up, the AC-130 sequence, the Chernobyl sniper shot, those still work because they're built on restraint rather than spectacle. The remaster does its job on textures, audio and animation without rewriting anything. Multiplayer is the sore spot. The maps (Crash, Crossfire, Backlot) are as sharp as they ever were, but the supply-drop economy grafted onto them added cosmetic and weapon variant clutter the original never had, and the population is thin now. Buy it for the campaign, treat any multiplayer match you find as a bonus.
