Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
A multiplayer-focused Call of Duty that ditches the campaign for Blackout battle royale and competitive 4v4 modes, built for players who want pure gunplay without the single-player baggage.
GamerScout Verdict
For multiplayer purists willing to overlook an aging playerbase and lack of campaign story.

About Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
Black Ops 4 made a bold choice in 2018: no campaign, just multiplayer. That means Blackout (a battle royale before Warzone existed), traditional 6v6 maps, and Zombies co-op. If you're hunting for narrative, you won't find it here. What you get instead is focused competitive design with specialist operators, each with unique abilities that matter in gunfights. The gunplay is tight and responsive, map design rewards map knowledge, and Blackout was genuinely fresh for its time even if it's been eclipsed by free-to-play alternatives. The downside is obvious: it's a 2018 multiplayer game with a fractured playerbase now. If you're jumping in solo expecting drama or story, you'll feel cheated. But for diehard Call of Duty fans or anyone who wants to understand why this franchise dominates competitive shooters, Black Ops 4 still delivers solid gunplay and mode variety.
