GamerScout Verdict
A lean arcade fighter that respects its 1996 roots; perfect for fighting game historians and split-screen couch battles.

About Breakers Collection
I went in expecting a nostalgia trip, and that's exactly what Breakers Collection delivers. You get both the original Breakers and Breakers Revenge from the Neo Geo era, plus fresh content that expands the roster. The fighting is straightforward arcade-style combat with decent hit detection and a modest cast of characters. Cross-platform multiplayer and split-screen modes mean you can actually play this with friends on the couch or online, which is rare for retro ports. The catch: this isn't a lavish restoration. Visuals are unchanged from 1996, menus feel minimal, and there's no modern tutorial system to ease you in. If you bounced off old arcade fighters before, this won't convince you. But if you loved the original or just want a lean, no-frills fighting game with solid netplay, it's worth a shot.
