GamerScout Verdict
Essential for Xbox owners who've never tried the series; the sweet spot is Borderlands 2, but all three offer solid loot-driven shooting.

About Borderlands Legendary Collection
I picked this up expecting a nostalgia trip, and what struck me was how well these three games hold up together. You get the original Borderlands (rough around the edges but charming), the peak of the series in Borderlands 2 (hilarious writing, genuinely memorable villains), and The Pre-Sequel (weird and divisive, but bold). The core loop across all three, shoot, loot, rinse, repeat, hasn't aged poorly; if anything, the gunplay feels snappier than similar loot games that came later. The main catch: this is an Xbox-exclusive collection, so PC and PlayStation players are out of luck. Each game scales in length from 20 to 30+ hours depending on how deep you go into side quests and endgame farming. The humor lands hardest in Borderlands 2, but if you bounced off that game's tone before, the other two might not win you over. Worth grabbing if you own an Xbox and want a proven trilogy that doesn't overstay its welcome.
