Beneath

Subnautica and Amnesia sell the same feeling: the dread of going down, and the doubt that the way back is still there. Beneath is chasing that mood without the budget behind it, and that gap is the thing that decides your experience. No tag list, no review pile, no community consensus to check yourself against. It is a small PC release that survives entirely on atmosphere, and small atmospheric games are either genuinely unsettling or completely inert. Treat it as a curiosity rather than a headline pick. If you enjoy digging past the front page for something odd and unpolished, and you can shrug off stiff animation, uneven pacing, and menus nobody playtested, there is usually an evening's worth of unease in a game like this. If you want production value, a legible progression loop, and other players to compare notes with, look elsewhere. Keep expectations short and let the mood do the work.
