Basingstoke is an indie action-adventure where you juggle two playable characters in real-time isometric combat. The gimmick is solid: swap between them on the fly to chain attacks, manage positioning, and solve light puzzle scenarios. It's the kind of game that works best if you accept its rough edges as part of the charm rather than a bug list. The art style is intentionally lo-fi, the story leans into absurdist British humor, and the two-character system forces you to think tactically instead of just button-mashing. Where it stumbles: combat can feel sluggish, level design is functional rather than inspired, and the novelty of character-swapping carries the whole thing. If you're hunting for tight, polished action, this isn't it. But if you enjoy scrappy indie experiments with a genuine hook and don't mind uneven production values, there's enough here to justify an afternoon.
